CYT Tri-Valley is proud to announce auditions for the Student Pit Orchestra for The Wizard of Oz at The Bankhead Theater; six performances June 13-16.  

The Wizard of Oz Student Orchestra Musicians will play under the direction of Conductor Jed da Roza.  The Music Director of more than 45 productions, Jed is passionate about developing young talent and creating a beautiful, cohesive music experience for artists and audiences alike.

Rehearsals
When: Saturdays April 6 - June 8
           Specific times between 9am - 1:30pm
           June 1 and June 8:  8:30 - 1:30 to rehearse with actors
Where: Cornerstone Fellowship
What:  Instruction, development, and direction with Conductor Jed da Roza.

SEEKING for Wizard of Oz:
  • Oboe
  • Flute
  • Piano/keyboard
  • Clarinet
  • Saxophone (soprano)
  • Horn
  • Violin
  • Viola
  • Trumpet
  • Trombone
  • Cello
  • Bass
  • Harp
Musicians will:  
  • Be comfortable reading music that sometimes quickly moves between uncommon key signatures (including multiple sharps and flats), uncommon time signatures, and abrupt tempo changes.
  • Have technical proficiency throughout a wide range.
  • Practice as needed to be prepared for rehearsals. Perfection is not expected, but musicians are expected to come to rehearsals ready to add their part to the whole.
  • Attend weekly rehearsals 
  • Pay a $275 production fee.  Covers materials, production costs, and instruction.
