Description

Contemporary dance, though not often incorporated in musical theater, is an excellent practice for uniting dancing with character acting. Contemporary dance in this class will generally focus on emotion, contraction, and balance. While dance does not have to be narrative, we will learn choreography that tells a story.

Teacher:

Deryka Zhong

Deryka is new to the Bay Area, hailing from New York City. She is full-time writer and college writing professor, but she has undergone vocal, acting, and dance training with various Broadway professionals from SIX, Hamilton, Once, and Prospect Theater Company.
