Description

Have you ever wondered, "What the big deal about Shakespeare is?" Join us and delve into the humor and keen insight that makes Shakespeare relevant more than 400 years after his death!

We will be exploring Shakespeare’s classic comedy, Much Ado about Nothing, and what it tells us about human nature and our culture today. Learn Shakespearean language and clever phrases, character development, and comedic timing in games and scenes—and then help develop modern day equivalent for you and your classmates to present alongside the work of the Bard!

AGE POLICY: This class is designed for students 13-18.  Students must be at least 13 years old by the first day of class.  Staff monitors registration and will disenroll any student who doesn't fit the required age range.  Casses fill quickly, so space in another class may not be available.  Please make sure your student is the correct age before registering.

Teacher:

Koreen Paterson

Koreen is a former elementary teacher turned homeschooling mom. She started performing in musicals in fourth grade—and has been in love with them ever since! Her journeying in theater has included writing and directing a musical for a summer missions team and running a summer Shakespeare program in the local public library. She has also sung in a traveling performance choir and directed a small girls’ choir. Koreen is excited to join the CYT family and continue to learn and grow together!
