Description

This class will focus on one of an actor’s greatest and most unique resources: their voice.

We’ll begin with the foundation of connecting body & breath to support proper technique for the actor’s speaking voice. Through an exploration of grounding, articulation, vocal strategies, and physical support, actors will lean into and/or unlock the possibilities of their vocal instrument.  Our goal will be to understand what is required to successfully give clear, enunciated, and projected speech on stage in a healthy and relaxed manner.
If time allows, we’ll also work with introductory phonetics, the building blocks of stage accents; hopefully we’ll try a few!

Get ready! If you know KW, you know there are expectations to practice your skills between classes to strengthen your instrument and advance your craft!
