Class Description

WCYT Radio Hour!  Lost Treasures of the Golden Age of Radio

How much do you know about the Golden Age of Radio?  Who is the green Hornet and Buck Rogers? 

In this session of the WCYT Radio Hour, we will be learning a little about the history of radio shows, then bringing them to life!  Have you always wanted to play Superman? Here's your chance! And as before, we'll be making our own sound effects and writing commercials!
 
We'll prepare three episodes for the public to hear on 1/31, 2/21, and 3/14.
Classes may extend for 30 extra minutes on the following dates for recording purposes.  Details provided closer to the dates.

Rita Baird

Rita Baird is currently a piano teacher and busy mother of eight. In high school, she performed in 'Fiddler on the Roof' and fell in love with the stage. She then went to UC Berkeley to study music, with a focus on choral music and piano accompaniment. She sang in the university's concert choir, chamber chorus, and madrigal group. More recently, she conducted the children's choir at Valley Bible Church and wrote and directed a Christmas musical there. She especially loves making music with others and singing a new song to the Lord!
