Class Description

Theatrical Fencing is a class for beginners, teaching the basics of swordplay, sword safety, and how to tailor the fight to the character. In this class students learn moves and technical actions in a structured environment and use them to develop skits and scenes. We'll talk about the different styles of swordplay fight that choreographers like Bob Anderson (The Princess Bride, Star Wars), and William Hobbs (The Duellists, The Three/Four Musketeers) might use. The class is safe, fun, and athletic. It will improve posture, balance, eye-hand coordination, memorization, timing, and mental focus. (And you get to play with swords.)
